I had an amazing experience at Hawaii Family Dental! After not being able to go to the dentist for quite some time, I needed a deep cleaning. The staff was professional and gentle, and to top it off, the Edwin who did my cleaning was actually my good friend from all the way back in middle school! My smile feels refreshed, and I’d highly recommend them!

I am not a big fan of the dentist. So my anxiety was at a high not knowing what to expect. Kiana was so good in explaining what she will be doing. She was very gentle with my teeth cleaning and made me feel very comfortable. It has been a few years since I got one done. I appreciate her patience and working with me.

My visit at Hawaii Family Dental Aiea was outstanding. The check in process was outstanding. The doctor and technician that performed the dental care I needed addressed my issues and took additional measures to ensure I was comfortable during the process or while they performed the care needed for my teeth.

I had a great first experience! I noticed right away everyone’s smiling faces and warm presence. Although there was some frustration with some guests, the team handled it very well and I was impressed. I also felt safe and relaxed when they put music on, as well as dimming the lights. At the end, I felt much better with my thoroughly cleaned teeth. I look forward to my next visit with these professionals!

Dr Hur was excellent as usual. He was very attentive and professional. He performed the work is his usual efficient manner. His knowledge of my history is very helpful. He went to the extra effort of adjusting my mouth guard so that it fit properly.

I felt listened to and well taken care of. The virtual receptionist/check in was interesting. Not bad, just interesting. I think it frees up the ladies behind the counter. My one worry would be for deaf and hard of hearing people. So maybe having caption on there would be a good option.

Great dental office. very clean and well maintained. The staff are all wonderful. Answered all my questions and explained what they were doing to put me at ease. Everyone was friendly. My temporary crown cracked and I was able to get an appointment as soon as I walked in. The staff all showed compassion and took care of me right away. Everyone was so nice, professional and friendly. The virtual tech that checked me in, front desk financial clerk, dental technician and dental hygienist explained everything in detail. I went in knowing exactly what would be done and what I had to pay. They had high tech equipment that I had never experienced in other dental offices. Dr Moon was easy to talk to and explained what could be done to fix a problem tooth. Every service was done so efficiently; boom, boom boom , done! I have never received such wonderful customer service anywhere! Exceptional service!!

My daughter had a wonderful visit with Dr Shin today. He is very encouraging and she loved that he showed her photos of what her teeth looked like before invisilign compared to what they look like today. She was very excited about her progress 😬♥️

Today was a big day fr me with an extraction with Dr Sterling! I was so scared and nervous but Dr Sterling was like my knight and shiny armor. He took all the pilikias and nervous feelings away by his his quiet confidence, strong character and very kind experienced mannerism. I was done in no time and didn’t realize it was over. On vacation here in Kihei. A crown fell off a tooth. Contacted Hawaii Family Dental. “Em” are the front desk helped me to get an immediate appointment and processed my insurance. She was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Jeffrey saw me the next day for my appointment. Exam taken, X-ray taken, and he re-cemented the crown. Everyone at this facility was extremely customer friendly, kind, and professional. The entire process was quick and easy. Thank you all.

Had a very pleasant appointmentn with my regular hygienist Ashton. I’ve been seeing Ashton regularly for a few years now and I’m very happy with his gentle and thorough ways. Nina was super professional and very informative with good health and daily practices when it comes to dental health. I showed up on time and was able to check in quickly. Nina was able to get me to the dental chair and got to work. She would frequently ask if I was ok and gave me specific instructions in order to help her find the exact angles so she could continue. I’m very pleased with the entire dental office and the level of simplicity and professionalism.

I’m not fond of the virtual reception sign in kiosk, but that’s just me, it’s not a welcoming way to receive patients. Went in for a dental appointment of the 27 of Jan. at the Winward location and was greated with a friendly smile by Serena. Dr. Moon was on his “A” game as usual and his assistant (Kalia??) was very professional and courteous. The whole staff is always friendly. Mahalo Nui Loa!

I really enjoyed having Dr.Chang as my doctor for my “TEETH” she’s very funny and can go with the flow of having a fun personality. Looking forward to having her as my doctor for a life time. Oh, I forgot the other person is Tina (side kick “LOL”) They both make a good, fun team. They greet you with a smile and small conversation then we laugh. Just like “Ohana” and yet we’re not related. “Today I went to the dentist and Bluey was playing on the tv. I had to get fillings so they laid me in the burrito and I smelled grapes (nitrous oxide) lol. He did have to use the needle to make my mouth numb so it felt weird and tingly, but I didn’t cry. He was super fast, it didn’t hurt, and I got some toys when I was done” -My 6 yr old

Had to do a 3 teeth extraction. Dr Gene was very gentle and spoke / explained through out the whole process making sure I was ok. He made sure I didn’t feel a thing.He made me feel comfortable knowing I hated going to the dentist. mahalo Dr. Gene.

Once again, Hawaii Family Dental came through for me. Last night (Friday) I had a crown come loose and I was thinking I might have to wait till Monday to get it taken care of. My wife suggested I call the office to see if maybe they were open on a Saturday and they were! Dr. Thomas saw me this afternoon and was very friendly and professional. They took x-rays and examined me and the crown to make sure everything was OK. Everything looked great so they were able to just cement the crown back into place and I’m good to go. Highly recommend Hawaii Family Dental.

Cheryl is really good at what she does and makes me feel like part of the Hawaii dental family.She also explains well on what to do as far as flossing,kind of toothbrush need etc.keep up the excellent work

The service I received today was top tier! The staff treated me as if I was their only patient. My anxiety was high due to the procedure, but due to the staff being so incredibly kind, I was calm the entire time.

Really appreciate Dr. Moon and his team. Do a great job of caring for my teeth. I previously had a lot of challenges with a previous crown where my dentist wasn’t able to anesthetize my teeth fully. Apparently I had a nerve anomaly? Extraordinarily painful experience. But when Dr. Moon did it, it went very smoothly, complete anesthesia, great healing, excellent service. Extremely happy to have changed over to them. Dental hygienist who does my regular cleaning is super sweet too.

I was really nervous about my teeth cleaning because I have neglected it for a good number of years, but Yana was very reassuring and gentle. She really works with the patient and takes her time to get the best results. And the coolest part was the before and after pictures she took to show how me the difference the cleaning made! No other dental place have done before! Really happy with the results. Couldn’t ask for a better hygienist !

It’s in the mall- so parking garage with ample parking. Friendly staff- from the receptionist to the dentist. Very gentle hygienist and dentist. You’ll feel at ease as soon as they have you in the dentist chair. My dentist appointments are always prompt on time. I highly recommend if your searching for gentle and caring dentistry.

I had my first cleaning today with Nina- without a doubt the best dental cleaning experience ever, and I have been to dental practices all over the country. The dim lighting in the room is immediately relaxing- and I got to choose my own music! Nina made the cleaning experience itself actually pleasant , and who says that about a visit to the dentist?!! Came today for my scheduled dental routine. Check in was smooth and the lady in the front desk was very helpful (I forgot to ask her name) but she always greeted me with a smile 😃. My appointment was at 8:00am and I was called just right in time (this time 😉) last visit I had to wait for around 40min past my appointment wc makes me sad but all else went well. Sarah helped me out with my prophylaxis today and I am so happy to have her. She is very thorough with everything and even go beyond what is needed. She spent extra time for my damage filling to clean up as per my request and I am so impressed with the result. She always make sure i am okay during the procedure ,she’s very careful with every steps she makes and explains everything. She gave me tips about oral care wc i didn’t know exist 😆.My whole experience was awesome 👌. Mahalo Family Dental Aeia for a great job.

The staff were very attentive and kind with the check in process. The dental assistant was courteous and professional. My consultation with Dr. Sterling went smoothly. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me in a timely manner. The most important thing for me was that it didn’t take long because I had another engagement. My review is in reference to Dr. Azure Utley – Hawaii Family Dental Kapolei office. Dr. Utley is the absolute best. She resolved my issues acquired while under the care of a different dental office timely and coordinated my care from root canal to replacement crown. She carefully explained what I could expect and has great communication, even after services were rendered. Highly recommend.

Although going to the dentist is something I strongly dislike—especially procedures involving needles—my visit with Family Dentistry was a positive experience. Dr. Gene was excellent, as was his assistant. The front desk personnel were professional and courteous. They all made me feel welcome.

I love the fact that they make a custom plan for me and they go down to all the little details to make it happen just so I can have a perfect smile. They customize days in the time that it all works. They make it easy for me.

Super friendly staff on 1-16-26 who helped me with a tooth infection. I didn’t have an appointment but they took me in and saw me and got me squared away quickly. Receptionist was VERY helpful and I am extremely grateful and would recommend the place at windward mall if you are in a pinch or need to schedule a teeth cleaning, etc. They might have limited choices for oral surgeons, but they made referrals and I was able to grab prescriptions from the Longs across the street super fast. Well, I gotta tell you, it’s been a long time since I’ve been to a dentist and I live on the mainland. But I had a bad toothache … I come to Maui 4 Months in the winter so I had to make an appointment.. So I went to Hawaii family dental in Kihei and I’ve never had a better experience at a dentist in my life and I’m 74 years old. Everybody was so polite so helpful and so nice. I want to thank each and everyone of you….

4 Stars: Didn’t like checking in with a talking head on computer. Dental service and follow up by Beth was very good. Just upgraded to 5 for 2sd visit. Checked in by a real , non-digital person, very patient , kind and efficient. Dental work by Dr. Ty and cleaning by Dr. ??? were very good, pleasant, expert experiences.

My teeth are in excellent shape but I go just to chat with Jeff my cleaner. The whole staff is professional and spread the aloha. I wish the check-in procedure went back to being more personal instead of electronic, but still they get five big gold stars.

Great dentists and assistance. From front desk to back! Big emphasis on the hygienists and staffing, they go above to make you feel comfortable and local friendly!! Plus if you need to kill time, the ball is a great place to do so.

The staff is always kind. Today I showed up a couple hours early because a friend also has appointments for her kids, so I caught a ride with them. I ended up just checking in anyway. And they called me back within 30 minutes. (Still about 1.5 hours before my actual appointment time) I saw Dr Stone for a tooth extraction. This is my second time seeing him. And he is great. Had me numbed and the tooth out quick and without complication.

Dr. Stone was amazing. He was very patient answering all my questions and working with me even as difficult as it was. His assistant was very good as well helping make me comfortable and relax being I have fears of dentists. Mahalo…..

This has to be the bestest dental office. They are very accommodating to clients who works during the week. Open late at nights and weekends most especially on Sunday’s. I had a dental issue, with such a short notice , they took me in. Thank you Dr Woo…you have an amazing team.

Had a root canal by Dr Stuart Wisotzky. He and his assistant did their very best to put my apprehensions at ease right down to humming with the music karaoke style. It was the most comfortable procedure full of laughter I have had in years.

Well, first of all this was my first time seeing the office at a different location, and I like the facility it was very nice and cleaned. The room set up was excellent, I didn’t know that they were a lot of rooms in there.The staff at the desk was very helpful and polite, as well as the medical assistant and dentist.I definitely will continue my visit there.

They’re very efficient. We get seen exactly at our appointment time. Dr. Westfall is very gentle and attentive to my toddler. She loves going here & shes always so excited to grab a little toy at the end. The environment is great as well and the areas to include the restroom are very clean.

Visit was good. Dr Ching even looked at my xrays from my last annual check up in August, since the dentist on that day didn’t review them with me. I’m glad he did because I have 4 teeth that need fillings. The front scheduled my upcoming appts with the oral surgeon and fillings with Dr Ching.

I always feel like I am receiving great care during my 6 month cleanings. Cheryl is very gentle and kind while working on my teeth. My dentist is very skilled and makes sure I am comfortable when doing a procedure. The last time he replaced a crown, it was so perfect, it felt like my normal tooth.

I didn’t get everyone’s names, but Cheryl was my hygienist, and Brittany assisted with scheduling upon checkout. 10/16/25 Today was my first dental work visit with Dr. Hur. I was nervous due to a previous bad experience with a former dentist. Dr. Hur was very reassuring, and I appreciated how he explained everything. He also took the time to listen to my concerns; he seemed genuine and answered all my questions.

Just here to say Adam needs a raise. He’s the best hygienist I’ve ever had, mainland, O’ahu, anywhere! Professional, caring, and thorough. Everyone there is friendly and helpful, the only hard part is scheduling. If something gets cancelled or you need a filling it’s gonna be another 6 months. But definitely can’t fault anyone there for that they do a good job working around it.

I was so impressed by the whole experience. Everything was super clean, the staff friendly, and knowledgable, and Dr Park was awesome. I needed to find a new dentist and I’m so happy to have found this group. Five stars plus!

Many thanks to Dr. Rasheed Siddiqui And his assistant for prompt, friendly, and professional service. Today I went in for cleaning. His assistant kept apologizing for not being able to remove all my dental stains. Imagine my surprise when I get into my car and look into the mirror to see perfectly white teeth. Clearly she was being a perfectionist but, hey, her work was more than well enough. It was excellent! And Dr Siddiqui was at his usual excellent best, as well. Last April the crown he put on one of my molars fit perfectly on the first try—without even having to make adjustments. This time around his checkup was careful and thorough, as always, with a friendly chair side manner that gives me great confidence in the professional service from Hawaii Family Dental. Laura was the BEST Hygienist Cleaner EVER. From the very start Laura made me feel very comfortable & relaxed. Throughout the session Laura would ask if I was comfortable & if I needed a stretch break, I did.we laughed wen I told her she was like an archeologists scraping away the years of build up. I took my wife to her appointment here for the first and for the first time entering a dentist office, you can feel the care and aloha from all the staffs. ( i get from other dentist as well ) but this was warm and welcoming, The staff were super respectful and funny at the same time, from the front desk to back. They made sure all concerns were answered and explanations was clear. I mean no others besides saying #1 place to brighten your smile.

The check-in process was efficient and I was seen promptly. My treatment plan was reviewed with me by the doctor. I had a wisdom tooth extracted after all my questions were answered and the area was numbed. The entire procedure was quick and I was out of the door in less than 30 minutes. Plus, the copay was 1/2 the amount expected. As good an experience as one could have when a tooth is being extracted!

From when I enter until I leave, the staff and Doctors are very POLITE, CARING and PROFESSIONAL. I LOVE THEM ALL. They treat me, my wife Kanani and my daughter Mailani like family. ESPECIALLY my TWO GIRLS up at the front desk who I keep forgetting their names but I’ll never forget their faces. And then of course, Gen, who I will NEVER forget! The work they had performed yesterday was awesome and did not even feel any pain or sensitive from the numbness they put on the tooth. Everything was great until at home when the numbness went away I had this pain still there, I have been taking Tylenol so I can sleep but right after couple of hours the pain is still there. I might give my dentist a call and see what is the next option I have. Thanks

Had fun with da checkin process I neva know check in was with Annie on da computer. Da ladies at da front counter was very helpful. But love Lani I knew my teeth was really dirty and she was excellent in her service & giving suggestions on how to clean better. Efficient and friendly staff. My dental hygienist of 8 years, Laura is always very thorough and charismatic. My x-ray tech, Char was caring and took extra steps to pad the mouth inserts to prevent scraping against the inside of the mouth. My dentist, Dr Cheng was knowledgeable and established an amazing rapport. I highly recommend Hawaii Family Dental

I had an appointment today at Hawaii Family Dental at the Waiakea Villas. Adam (the hygienist ) has a very professional & friendly demeanor & was a blessing. Dr Young expertly and painlessly checked my teeth, filled 3 or more cavities, was quite attentive to any concerns I had & did an excellent job. I would recommend this practice to anyone!

These people are amazing! Checking in was weirdly y2k tech with the virtual checkin on an old tv screen and little webcam. It was efficient and quick. The young wahine who took my X-rays was very kind and worked the machines like she was Trinity in the matrix starring Keanu Reeves. Mr. Dentist dude was rad. Super chill vibes, very knowledgeable, straight forward and pretty eyes. Love him. Lastly, the lady who checked me out was groovy. She likes cats from what I could see with her office decorations. She scheduled me for my other appointments and it was awesome. Her door makes a funny sound sometimes like a light shaking from the weird machine in the next room and it was weirdly comforting. I’d highly recommend this place. Oh also the paint colors and entire building is stuck in 1996 which is awesome. No complaints here!

Grossly mismanaged. Dr. Mellow seemed to put of my complaint until I got upset enough to say that something isn’t right and I will not have a final crown until we find out why after a root canal my tooth hurts 3 months later (still). Had a root canal in June fast forward end of Sept (I have called multiple times to check on the status of the crown, was it delivered? Any update?) nope. Come in today and dentist says I wrote I did the final impression but do you remember? I do not remember I’ve been under the impression my mold was at the lab and said crown was being made from mold. I brought up concern to assistant about pain and wanting to make sure it wasn’t the root canal tooth that was hurting. This was not shared with the dentist so I voiced up. I think I need a second opinion, I understand the concept of a root canal. I’m not supposed to have pain. After finally sorting out this never ending tail chasing. I have to come back, have a second root canal, then maybe just maybe we can get an impression and get final delivery.
