Dr. Maricris Meyer
What would you like patients to know about you?
A 2015 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore, Dr. Maricris Meyer loves to get to know her patients on a personal level. By forming lasting relationships, Dr. Mangasi is able to provide customized care and help her patients make informed choices when it comes to their oral health. Dr. Meyer also worked as a NYU Lutheran AEGD Resident at Bay Clinic, Inc. in Hilo.
When she’s not in the office, Dr. Meyer enjoys exploring new places and dining on delicious food. On weekends, you’ll find her spending time outdoors hiking, visiting the beach, and cruising the local farmer’s market. She sees each day at Hawaii Family Dental Center as a new opportunity to put a smile on someone’s face through her dedicated care and sense of humor.
Shontell is the best hygienist around. She has a wonderful and warm personality that puts you at ease while she’s cleaning your teeth. Gentle hands and very thorough. Dr. Meyer and the entire staff at Hawaii Family Dental - Hilo makes visiting the dentists office a pleasure. Welcoming and they go out of their way to ease any anxiety you may have when you walk in the door for your appointment.
I required extensive implant work on one of my front teeth. I panicked -- being new to Hilo side meant I needed a referral for an appointment to see a dentist. Two dentists later I finally found Dr. Meyer, and HFDC could do both surgery (Dr. Gill) and dental. Dr. Meyer even came in to work on a day off so that I would not have to walk around with a missing front tooth. Replicating what used to be there requires an artist’s eye and I was in Dr. Meyer’s good hands. Covid timing meant it took a little longer, but now I look good! Great staff too.
The Hilo Hawaii Family Dental team are so friendly and professional. It is always a great experience when I visit there for my teeth cleaning or dental work. Dr Meyer is so knowledgeable and open in discussion care options. We are happy to have them as our dentist on the Big Island.
The staff at the Hilo office are courteous and professional. My appointment began at the scheduled time. The hygienist did a good job. I like Dr. (Mangasi) Meyer. She's very friendly and conscientious. I have received good care from this office and staff and recommend them to anyone in the area who needs a dentist.
It took a huge leap of faith for me to return to a dentist again after 10 years - I'd previously had very negative (and sometimes very painful) experiences with dentists on the mainland, and now after a long delay I knew I needed extensive dental work because my procrastination was starting to affect my health.Dr. Mangasi and her assistant Arlene were very friendly and professional, making me feel at ease with my decision to have the work done and create a plan to systematically repair the many years of neglect. My dental work is now almost completed after nearly 10 months. I feel very fortunate to have found a dentist with great skills and professionalism and a hygienist with careful attention to detail and concern for my comfort and the results of the work. Now I not only enjoy better health and a brighter smile, I also believe I have gained two good friends... quite a reversal for a guy who used to break into a cold sweat at the sight of a dentist chair.Mahalo, ladies. See you in 6 months for the next checkup!
