Dr. Istvan enjoys caring for her patients’ smiles and is humbled by having the opportunity to help others.
She recalls seeing a patient diagnosed with oral cancer. “He was going through a difficult time in his life and was recently told he had oral cancer. To find out you’re losing all your teeth, that the shape of your face would change, its devasting. Being able to provide dentures and seeing the patient regain self-confidence…showing that there was a way through this, it was fulfilling to make their life a little bit easier.”
When she’s not helping others, Dr. Istvan enjoys painting, paddling, and walking with her husband and dog.

Dr. Ildiko Istvan Is the best dentist I’ve had, and I’ve had too many to count, she certainly is top notch! First Class Maui Dentist! You won't be disappointed. She is patient, kind but more importantly precise. She is a highly skilled dentist that takes pride in her work. She doesn't settle for just good enough she goes for perfection.! Pays attention to detail and always checking and rechecking. That's what you want in a Doctor, hard to find these days. Absolutely love her!

Excellent service. I have been a patient of HFDS for 50 years. I've had many different dentists and hygienists over the years. Dr. Istvan and Dr. Stone were both outstanding in my latest visits: kind, comforting and precise. I felt reassured that I will continue to have great dental care. I love Dr Iidiko Istvan! I have always been so stressed when going to the dentist. Now when asked how my dental visit went, I say IT WAS FUN!! Dr ildi is the best at making you feel comfortable, always tells you what she is doing as she does it, always checks to see if you are comfortable and feeling no pain. I am always entertained while she is bantering with her assistant Camille...they are so funny. Today's assistant was Jasmine. She also made me feel comfortable.. was so reassuring. I got in at a moments notice for an unscheduled appointment today to fine tune a crown....Dr lldi fit me in. I was In and out very quickly. The best dentist on Maui 😊
