They were great! Nice reception staff and the hygienist was gentle and fun to talk with. She knew what she was doing as well! Dr. Chang was wonderful! She took over a half hour with me reviewing my X-rays, discussed my results of those as well as her own exam, and made very helpful suggestions. We had a really good chat also. I set up several appointments on the spot! I actually look forward to seeing my new dentist! Mahalo to all!

I absolutely love going to the dentist because of this place! The staff are all exceptional. The hygienists are gentle, Dr.Chang is amazing and explains treatment transparently. The reception staff are caring and very helpful when it comes to scheduling and going over estimates. Highly recommend this place if you get nervous at the dentist!!

I had an appointment to do the crown, but then at the end of the appointment something went wrong, I touched my tooth with my tongue and I felt that it is flat, my dentist said that I need to do referral for crown lengthening… they changed an amount for a temporary crown so everything is fine. Lacey helped me a lot with my checks gave me all information about my future appointments. She’s so sweet 🥹

Really recommend Dr Chang for anyone who’s wanting a dentist who has your best interest in mind. Excellent in explaining the treatment plan for you to have the best smile you can have. Answered all my questions and made me feel at ease for someone who was scared of dentists before. 5/5 easy recommendation.

The procedure that was done yesterday was the best for me. At first I had such a bad experience long time ago. So I didn't like going to the dentist at all,unless in an emergency and have no choice then I will go to the dentist. But Dr. Chang made it so comfortable and safe for me. Talking me through the procedure made it easier . Then the second procedure was so humble as much. Though I had a tooth extraction and cleaning,it wasn't so bad at all. The team is right on time and very friendly! I typically get very anxious at dental clinics but Dr. Chang and Jane were gentle and thorough. Highly recommend!

My insurance was running out in 2 weeks, and I'm not a shark, so I said it was time to get 30+ years of tooth decay treated as much as possible. Dr. Chang made a plan to fix whatever my insurance covered before it expired. She accommodated my difficult schedule, even seeing me twice a day to get everything finished in time (crowns, fillings, build ups, extractions, etc.). Though I decided to extend the insurance, she'd have completed everything before it lapsed. If I had a worst enemy, I'd wish what Dr. Chang and Clarice went through on them. My mouth was a horror show. I'm surprised nobody threw up. They must've stared into that abyss for over 24 hours. Did I mention I smoke? I am truly grateful to them and also sorry. They offered me breaks (and you can always ask for one), kept trying to show me their progress, and kept trying to get things just right. It's been a few days and I think I'm used to my new bite. I am very happy with my new mouth. I thank them, even miss them! and recommend them.

My dentist and hygienist are the best. Always personable, caring and know their job. I would recommend Hawaii Family Dental - Honolulu if you are looking for a dentist. You get reminders of your appointments, cost estimates of your upcoming appointment so you can be prepared or ask questions if needed and the front staff is always personable and helpful. It is easy to confirm your appointment or make changes if needed. There is validated parking available.

"I like going to the dentist", said no one ever. HOWEVER... when you find a good dentist like Dr. Dunn, you will change your tune. I travel far distances to see Dr. Dunn because she is honest, gentle, friendly, and caring; she really knows how to handle my severe anxiety that arises whilst in the dental chair.

This appointment was for teeth cleaning, X-rays and Dentist exam. I have had Daylynn (sp?) as my hygienists since I started coming to Hawaii Family Dental. She has always been great, no concerns or issues. Dr.Mitzunaga is a new Dr for me, this was the 2nd time. He was pleasant, but seems in a hurry. Showed me my X-rays trying to explain where he saw potential issues. Suggested we could take conservative approach (wait & See) or aggressive approach and pix potential issues (root canal, cavities) The old Root Canal has not bothered me, he said some irregular shading in X-rays may indicate a problem. The others were potential cavities, which I did not have once he did visual exam. OK to come back in 6 months. He was in a hurry to leave and said he'd finish his notes in my file later.. Sorry I forget my former Dr.'s name, I liked him, his manner and approach. Would it be possible to change Doctor's for when I return, April 2, 2018? My nephew also goes to your facility and really liked a female Doctor. Thanks for asking! CM Flattery
