    Born and raised in Honoka’a, Dr. Edward Akioka brings comfort-conscious care to his dental practice. With experience that extends beyond patient care, Dr. Akioka also served as a Teaching Assistant at Creighton University School of Dentistry, where he taught first-year dental students periodontal and hygiene techniques.

    Dr. Akioka's commitment to both teaching and patient care reflects his passion for dentistry and improving oral health for all ages. He looks forward to caring for patients and helping them achieve their dental goals.

    I've been a patient in this practice for over 10 years, and drive nearly an hour each way despite having closer offices i could go to. I do this because you consistently have caring and very capable staff members. Over those years I have recommended many other people and I do so with confidence.     Dr.Collyer Young and his staff at Waiakea Villas Hawaii Family Dental are so professional and caring. Dr.Young listened to me and respected, and even went along with, one of my suggestions for the treatment of my teeth. I'm so pleased he takes Delta dental insurance, offered by United Healthcare.

    My experience was positive. I had not been to a dentist for over 10 years. The staff all all kind, gentle, professional, and often laughter and joking with me and each other, which I find comforting. I also liked watching wildlife movie while waiting, put everything in perspective haha💚

    It is always a great experience getting my teeth cleaned by Adam. He is very considerate, gentle and knowledgeable. I always leave with a smile.     I am so grateful for the amazing care I received here at Hawaii Family Dental. A huge shoutout to Adam who did my cleaning! He was the MOST caring, gentle and extremely funny hygienist I’ve ever met. He made sure I was comfortable which I truly appreciated because of my fear of getting any dental work done. Never thought I would say this but I look forward to my next appointment!

    I'm not exagerating when I say I thoroghly enjoyed having my teeth cleaned by hygienist Adam Z. He is upbeat and genuinely caring, gentle, knowlegable, explains what he's doing and why, and discuss how I can best care for my dental health. Everyone in the office was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Hawaii Family Dental.

    I give HFD a 10 out of 5 stars!Dr Sherri Chong is a rock star! She’s so smart, and kind. I feel very heard and well taken care of. And my teeth are looking so much better!!! I’m so thankful for all the kind staff! They even bring me a blanket when I’m chilly haha.Mahalo nui for all you do 🙂
