My wife referred me to Hawaii Family Dental because of how she was treated post radiation therapy. I went in for a broken wisdom tooth. My new patient workup included x-rays and a cleaning. Since it's been more than 6 years since seeing a dentist, I had some work needed. Two teeth had some decay and needed filling. Another tooth with decay needs a crown and the broken tooth.Long story short. The entire staff is professional and friendly. I never felt discomfort during the procedures. Their techniques were that good. I recommend Hawaii Family Dental with your dental health needs.

Dr. Thomas is very considerate and is always checking my comfort level. He also explains treatment plans thoroughly! They are very busy but he is very present with you. I love all the staff as well. They are very friendly. Rayna always makes me feel welcomed.

Everyone from the receptionist (Bobbie) to the exray person (Jaden) to the financial/insurance person (Annabelle) to the hygienist (Yana) was friendly, knowledgeable and gave me great service. (I hope I got the names right! ) The dentist who helped me, Dr. Mello, was pleasant and professional, and I will certainly be one of her patients for a long time to come. I was extremely happy with everyone, and I look forward to a good future with them all.********** Comment #2 **********I have something not good to add: I went back today to have a procedure done, and IT WAS SO NOISY I COULD BARELY STAND IT. Just cublicles, no doors. Lots of dentists, patients, people talking, general noise. I found it very unpleasant. Based on the atmosphere alone, I cannot recommend, and take back my 5 stars.

Reyna was a sweetheart and was helpful with my 6 children. Got them entertained with tv and was able to walk around everytime she needed me to sign a document. My hands was full but her customer Satisfaction was a sucess. Dentist had provided support info and looking forward to another great service. Mahalo

The care at Hawaii Family Dental was impeccable! From scheduling the appointments, to being checked in and all the way through. Gently taking X-rays and thorough cleaning with aftercare instructions as well as helpful information! The Team in the Kihei clinic is like exquisite family 🥰 (p.s. I came in with 4 kids at once and they got us in and out within one hour, my children felt safe and calm)

I had an outstanding experience with my dental hygienist, Yana. Not only was she highly professional and thorough, but she also had a gentle touch that made my visit incredibly comfortable. Well, we're dealing with the day Dr Thomas worked on my lower implant and that was excellent. However, this afternoon (Thursday), that implant broke on the other side--the back left molar--and I am in need of immediate relief because a jagged edge is cutting my tongue!

Kailey was my hygienist for the second time and once again did an outstanding job - fast, friendly and painless. I asked her about tips for taking better care of my teeth and she had a number of helpful suggestions. I have been very happy with Hawaii Family Dental and with Kailey.

Had a front tooth filling from 10 yrs. before, break & drop out. Dr. Thomas immediately checked it, asked some very pertinent questions & offered options for repair. WHAT EFFICIENCY!!!. Took care of scheduling with May, who clearly explained my choices & professionally responded to my questions. On the way out, Rayna informed me she had me on the schedule for the tooth crown.Consistently the most professional, knowledgeable, caring, empathetic & efficient staff I have ever experienced in a Dental office. LONG OVERDUE! FIRST EVER VISIT IN 2023: I’ve been meaning to leave a review and as a single working mom of 6, I just forget things unless it’s in front of my face, to do with my babies or work! My very first day was such a pleasantly surprising one. Such awesome staff that welcomes you. Dr. Melo was so gentle and amazing and her assistant Hailey was very kind and sweet. I’ve never had a dentist in years that didn’t laugh after my X-rays after an examination or made a joke. She was just amazing. On my way out, Bobbi took care of my discharge. Again, such amazing staff…. PEOPLE. She actually confirmed some things with Dr. And my actual costs came down. Most people are “burn and turn”, but she actually took her time to look into things that worked out in my favor. I’m here at my 3rd appointment and I am so happy I found a judgment free place and such caring staff! LATEST VISIT 12/23/24: The best customer service and care you will ever find on this island! I was being set up for 2 crowns, and this was the prep for the temps. I was made to feel comfortable right off the bat, and great care was taken to ensure the shot didn't hurt. Success! The work took a couple hours start to finish, and the care and attention left no room for complaints. Lots of minor adjustments with explanations of what was going on. They weren't satisfied until my"bite" lined up perfectly. Lots of detail work, and I am very happy with everything I experienced. I will come back in a month for the actual crowns. I have no doubt it will go flawlessly. I was very impressed with the professionalism I was treated to. Recommendation? Absolutely!! If you're looking for a great dental team, Hawaii Family Dental is a GREAT choice.
