My implants were accomplished by Dr. Sterling with expertise and meticulous care. I would certainly recommend him to anyone requiring dental implants.

Staff was very friendly and compassionate. They knew i was nervous and kept making sure i was okay to proceed. It was very fast and my pain was pretty bad at first but is now very minor the day after procedure. Great staff! I highly recommend Dr. Sterling and the team at Ewa Beach location!

Post pricedure, he gave me detailed parting instructions to follow, which have helped speed up my recovery. His demeanor is worthy of emulation and I would highly recommend him to other patients. All the staff are super friendly, very professional environment, and I like that they all explain to you and make sure you understand every detail thats going to be done and what to expect for your treatment. Dr. Brett Sterling was very good, I had tooth extraction and he did it with my comfort in mind. I like that he doesnt force his way through, any discomfort or pain he stops right away and adjusts. Every single step he explains to you what he is doing and is very engage. Overall experience was superfast and barely felt anything! Thank you!

I needed a emergency oral surgery done asap after finding out I had a wisdom tooth gone bad and infecting the area of my jaw. Unfortunately my personal dentist’s specialist referral did not accept the current dental insurance I have. So I had to source out a place that did.

After calling through a list and leaving messages, I finally came across Hawaii Family Dental, Waterfront Plaza. Their friendly staff got me the info I needed to get a referral to be seen asap.

The day of my consultation I met Dr Sterling, who was the head surgeon. After getting X-rays done and a 3D graph of my jaw, Dr Sterling walked me through what could’ve been a complicated procedure of extracting my infected wisdom tooth if I had waited longer.

Like all good doctors, Dr Sterling gave me scenarios of what could and could not happen, possible bads if not done right.. you know.. the things we all should hear, not no beating around the bush type of talk. And thankfully I’m the type of guy that’s able to deal with whatever consequences. But luckily Dr Sterling assured me the procedure that I was about to get done, was nothing new to him.

Day of my surgery, I showed up.. the procedure room was setup and ready for me. The surgical team had the usual intro and role of each member and verifying who the patient is and procedure. And before I knew it I was out cold thanks to anesthesia.

When I finally came to at the end of the surgery, which only took no longer than an hour, the procedure was a success removing of my wisdom and cleaning the infected area. I was then sent home with a “after care kit” and prescribed meds to pickup afterwards.

I’m on my 3 day of recovery, and depending on the person, recovery should only take about 5-6 days assuring you’re following your after care instructions. Swelling from my cheeks is noticeably going down and a follow up checkup scheduled in the next few days from now.

My overall first time experience with Hawaii Family Dental has been great, professional and friendly.

Hawaii Family Dental Honolulu has an, Outstanding Office, Terrific Team and Talented Technicians. I have gone through an entire tooth removal, implant process and examination with Brett Sterling's team of talented and caring staff. I have been treated by many dental offices in my 66 years of life, but and have never been treated so well by so many talented Employees and professional.

From check-in to check-out, I had a great experience at this office. The front staff was very friendly and efficient with the whole process.
So I recently had a dental emergency and Dr Bono and her assistant Cedric were able to see me right away and they literally saved my smile. At the end of the appointment, Dr. Bono referred me to the oral surgeon. I was nervous but Dr Sterling and his assistants Dee and Cat made sure I understood what was going to happen during and after the surgery so by the end of it I was calm and assured of what to expect. 5 months in pain...and after seeing 3 Dentists & 2 Endodontics I was finally referred to Dr. Sterling for a Tooth Extraction. At first I was overwhelmed by the paper work and questionnaire but understood that coming from an Oral Surgeon's practice cover all basics was needed. My appointment was scheduled at 8:30am which they advised me to come in 15 minutes earlier to complete all forms. And waited for 20minutes until I was called in by I believe Dental Assistant Stanley who took my stats, walked me through everything in detail, very informative, positive & warm demeanor. Had a slight delay with Dr. Sterling as something came up with the patient before me(understandable). Once I met Dr. Sterling he also was very informative in regards to a certain type of medication I have been on and covered all possibilities on the procedure. For some reason I was feeling quiet overwhelmed and more nervous as ever (even if I extracted teeth before) but Dr. Sterling assured me he could also administer Laughing Gas along with the Topical Anesthesia. I declined. When the procedure took place I was totally in shock as it lasted less that 10 Minutes to me it was so fast and with MINIMAL PAIN! Stanley went over the after care and sent me on my way with my Care Package and Prescription for pain. I went home resumed my Home Duties, rested a bit and was in slight pain. Next day I am FINE, again minimum pain....But Thank Goodness the pain felt from 5 months is over! I Highly recommend seeing Dr. Sterling and Staff. Should I ever need an Extraction they will Certainly be my 1st Choice. Prior to going in the Staff Shaylin called me that they already verified my Insurance coverage and I had No Co-Pay.....Yay!! Prior to moving back to the islands my teeth needed extensive repairs due to complications from 2 “failed” implants done on the mainland. By the time I was able to get help for this post COVID from Dr. Sterling and staff that area was a total mess. Dr. Sterling basically “rolled up his sleeves”, stated what needed to be done in a kind and clear manner—very matter of fact—and then he and his staff went to work. I am so impressed and grateful for the results!

Upfront, honest, kind. These are the hallmarks of HFD. I went in for an urgent wisdom teeth extraction procedure and Dr. Brett Sterling made the procedure comfortable and quick. Staff was very kind, answered all of my questions, and met my every need post-op.

Everybody there is fast, friendly, competent and professional. Dr Sterling is absolutely amazing. He was so kind, patient and helpful and didn't get tired of explaining everything to me. He made my wisdom tooth extraction absolutely painless. He was so fast, I didn't even realize that he was already done! The numbness wore off shortly thereafter and I have been painless ever since without having to take any painkillers. Best dentist experience ever! I was really afraid and they took away all my worries before they started with the procedure. If getting a wisdom tooth pulled was fun, I would almost be looking forward to my next visit there...

The customer service from the front desk to the dental assistant and the dental surgeon to the last clerk we saw for billing was phenomenal! We were well taken care of. I asked my son how the surgeon was during the procedure (extraction of 1 wisdom tooth) and he said that he was great that he didn’t feel a thing except the pinch for the numbing. Therefore I agreed to schedule the removal of his other 3 wisdom teeth. I simply want to thank you Ms. Dee, Dr Sterling and the entire team for making this experience less stressful to both the patient, my 13 year old son (who was initially nervous and anxious before the procedure), and myself as the worried parent.
