I don’t like going to the dentist! It was a little stressful for me before I got there but I was put at ease because everyone there is so understanding and mindful of my level of stress. Great experience, great staff, and most of all great dentist!!thank you for talking me through the whole appointment!!

Went in for a cleaning today and was so impressed by the staff. I barely sat down in the waiting room when my hygienist Sarah called me in. She did a great job, explained everything she was doing right before she did it, provided useful information, a towel roll for my neck, listened to any concerns/questions I had. She was very personable, respectful and professional. I appreciated how efficient yet warm and friendly everyone was. I felt a lot of aloha there.

Visited Hawaii Family Dental for the first time last week and had a very positive experience. Check in was efficient and every thing was on time with no waiting. Dr. Adair was efficient and informative but the best treatment was from my hygienist Sara. She was absolutely awesome and took the time to explain what to expect in the cleaning procedure and the reasons for what she was doing. She did a great job and her friendly demeanor made my visit a positive one.

Excellent work done in a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Dr. Coleen Sullivan repaired my teeth quickly & painlessly, answering any questions I had. I highly recommended Hawaii Family Dental. Another visit to complete a crown was once again well done. Dr. Coleen Sullivan & the entire staff make the whole experience easy, painless & enjoyable. Once again Hawaii Family Dental took care of my dental needs by extracting a broken tooth. It was done smoothly quickly & painlessly despite ongoing Covid 19 issues in the area. On March 17, 2023 I had two damaged bottom teeth removed by Dr. Brendt-Alexander Lum. The procedure was done quickly and efficiently by this caring dentist and assistant. Once again I highly recommend Kona’s Hawaii Family Dental.

I was highly recommended from my old dentist that sadly had to drop my old insurance. With new insurance card in hand I was greeted by the beautiful and very kind Bambi who walked me through all my paperwork and helped me get my records forwarded from my old dentist. My first visit i was warmly greeted by the very knowledgeable Bernadette who explained to me what would happen on my visit. Of course talking a bit I realized her mother and I are friends and Bernadette grew up with my (step)granddaughter in school. It might be the Big Island but its a small world. Dr. Sullivan arrived with calm and reassuring words and repeated the process of what I needed to do to fill my lost filling, the pre approval process and rest assured me he would see me in 6 weeks to fill my lost filling. So far I have had an excellent "first impression" at Kona Family Dental!

I have a great fear of dentist and for good reason. Going to a new one just increases that fear. I was so amazed to have no pain while Dr. Colleen Sullivan drilled and filled a tooth at the gum line. I highly recommend this practice, the entire staff is kind and friendly.

The absolute best. Our daughter is special needs and they are so, so good with her. We appreciate that more than anything!

This was my first time in this office and what great experience I had! The staff was very friendly and the lady dentist I saw was great and made me feel very comfortable! I also had my teeth cleaned with Holly who was absolutely fantastic! Overall I am very happy to have chosen this great family dentist !

My dental hygienist, Jeff, is the best, he does an excellent cleaning and I do appreciate it, Jeff is the best dental hygienist I have had. My dentist, Dr. Barry, Is the best ever, after his exam I feel good that I am doing the right thing with my teeth, teeth are so very important. My ‘ Mahalo’ to both Jeff and Dr, Barry.

I take my 3 year old son here and they do a great job with him. He is afraid of the dentist and cries the whole time, and this great dentist and hygienist work impressively quickly to do a thorough cleaning and exam and get him out of there fast. The dentist is gentle, kind and empathetic. She asked if we had any questions. I will keep bringing my son here!

I had an appointment for a crown and had no idea what that entailed. Dr. Strommer and his assistant Sam explained it so well and put me at ease. Also I was assured anytime I wanted him to stop he would. Sam made my temporary crown and it is perfect, there are no issues with it being too high. Highly recommend. Also waiting time was about 5 min!

I find this a friendly, caring office. My dental hygienist is always on top on my care. He is friendly and makes my visit very comfortable. If there is a question, he will call in the dentist to have a look.

I had a wonderful experience at Hawaii Family Dental - Kona. I needed a few fillings and the Doctor was very clear explaining what he was doing the entire time, he was also very concerned about my well being. Thus, I had total trust in the Doctor and his assistant as they were both very professional and had me feeling trustworthy. In my opinion, I was in good hands!

I had to have a wisdom tooth pulled and was very anxious about it. The doctor and his assistant were awesome. I especially appreciated the calmness of the assistant and her assurance it would be quick. It was fast professional and I was put at ease.

Dr. Lum and his assistant were awesome. From my first consultation to my actual procedure, they were up front on what to expect, clear and concise on making sure I understood the risks involved with having all four wisdom teeth removed. They expressed the challenges with removing them since I waited until my mid 30s to have them removed, but Dr. Lum was optimistic about it, and again, up front with what to expect. Being awake with local anesthetic was definitely an experience and the way they handled it made me comfortable once they started. A big thanks to Dr. Lum and his assistant!
