Dr. Peggy Chen

Dr. Peggy Chen believes in creating comforting, trusting relationships with her patients. “A smile permeates every facet of life. A smile can help with job interviews, introduce new friends, and brighten up someone’s day. I believe I can impact people’s lives when I can help them with a confident smile. As part of the process, I also ensure my patients feel respected and comfortable during each visit.

“My favorite memory was helping a patient who hid his smile for years. After we restored his smile, he teared up at the end of his appointment. He was so excited to show his family and I even saw him doing a happy dance in reception as he was leaving!”

When she’s not creating smiles in the office, Dr. Chen loves dancing, freediving, hiking, and paddling. She also speaks Cantonese and Mandarin, and enjoys travelling around the world, learning about different cultures.

My entire family has been coming here for about 4 years now, staff is super friendly and service is efficient and so good. My kids love it here, they have had bad experiences in the past to where it made them kind of skeptical when we started coming here. But they love it, the hygienist there take care and made them feel comfortable. From services, even down to the financial. Everything made simple☺️

Chasity was great, I struggle with dental anxiety and she made sure to explain the process and what she was doing throughout my visit. My only issue is each time I come in I'm told different information about my appointment than I was told over the phone. Example over the phone I was told it was a standard cleaning visit verses showing up and being told it's a deep cleaning maintenance visit. The communication in the front of the house is not consistent.

I'm always recognized and greeted when I enter their office. Everyone is very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They also contact me, either through a phone call, email, or text regarding my next scheduled appointment. You could almost say that this is like Cheers, where everybody knows your name!

The office was welcoming and professional from the moment we walked in the doors. My son could not wait for his scheduled appointment due to a toothache so the office squeezed us in the next day. The assistant settled us in, and Dr. JD Westphal came in and reassured me and my son that the tooth that is bothering him will be taken cared of. Dr. Westphal and his assistant did a great job with my son. They kept communicating to each other and to my son. The front office discussed the finances and explained each charge. Thank you Hawaii Family Dental Ka Makana Alii 🤙🏼🤙🏼 We hope to keep the visits to a minimum to the twice a year cleanings 🤞🏼😬

First encounter ever today on phone with the office. Mandee whom I spoke to Was very pleasant and answered all my questions. She was very helpful and not lazy like some other receptionists from other places I know. I felt valued before I ended the call. I had my comprehensive exam, dental cleaning, and fillings done with Dr. Doan. She and the hygienists are professional, kind, caring, and patient. I had positive experience both times I was there. They kept me as comfortable and relaxed as possible during the procedures. Front desk are very nice and efficient too. I would recommend this dental office and Dr. Doan. Mahalo!

Prior to moving back to the islands my teeth needed extensive repairs due to complications from 2 “failed” implants done on the mainland. By the time I was able to get help for this post COVID from Dr. Sterling and staff that area was a total mess. Dr. Sterling basically “rolled up his sleeves”, stated what needed to be done in a kind and clear manner—very matter of fact—and then he and his staff went to work. I am so impressed and grateful for the results!

I am the person who has a lot of anxiety going to the dentist. I needed a crown placed. As horrible as it sounds to me. Both doctor and hygienist were compassionate and had a natural way of calming me. So in saying this, they made a horrible situation for me a good experience!

I love my dentist hygienist. She communicates well, is professional and does a great cleaning! Though, I was told I won’t see her at my next 6 month cleaning, which is sad 🙁 Hope to find one as good as her!

Went in to have my dental issue addressed and Dr. Hirsch explained everything in detail. He was very patient, considerate, and thorough during my extraction. I did not experience any pain or complications from the procedure and only experienced tenderness after the anesthetic wore off. I did not have any need for pain relievers. Front and back staff greeted me upon arrival and was very friendly and welcoming. Great experience and a lot of my dental anxieties were put to rest. Convenient office location and hours and will definitely return for routine care. Thank you!!

I really hate the dentist and I was afraid of looking for and establishing one. Lucky for me this place opened up next to my clinic and decided to try it out. I am BEYOND happy that I did! I am in the second phase of putting in implants. And when Dr. David Hoang first told me of the treatment plan, I was quite nervous simply because I do not like drills. But Dr. Hoang and his team have been great in just putting my inner anxiety at ease and despite all the physical discomforts that naturally comes with a procedure like this, it has not been as bad as I thought at all.
