It was my very first visit to Kapolei location, and was a pleasant visit as I was actually seen on time. I dont know if I was just lucky today or if it happens all the time at this location. Only time will tell. I used to go to the Westridge location for 20+ years, and this never happened 😆 🤣, although I really like the work and the staffs there.

Dr.Coy traumatized my baby. He’s the worst dentist to have working on your babies mouths. I haven’t visited since my son was about 4-5, it was the FIRST AND LAST time I took him there.. he’s 12 now.. I have a video that I recorded the day (I CANNOT for the life of me, bring myself to watch the video, even 6-7 years later). The way my son screamed in his chair. SMFH!. Piss me off! This dude SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO PRACTICE ANYMORE!!and what makes it worse is IM NOT THE ONLY PARENT WITH A STORY LIKE THIS, THAT CAME FROM THIS DENIST.If you love your children… please find another dentist and DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE.

My last visit at Hawaii Family Dentist Pearlridge was Outstanding. The Staff is always friendly and helpful. The check-in process is excellent. A special shout out to my dentist and assistant for much needed advice and direction on my treatment plan.

I broke a tooth at 1pm in Lahaina. I got an appointment same day at 4pm in Kahului and by 5pm I was good as new. The age of miracles hasn't ceased. My insurance didn't cover it, but for $$214 I was made happily and usefully whole. Great care. Totally fair!Thanks Dr Brian and the whole team at Hawaii Family Dental!

Lucky for me, someone cancelled and I got an appointment the day I called. The hygienist that did the cleaning was friendly and it went very well and Dr.Mello is a wonderful doctor. I booked my next appointment for the end of this month. I feel good about this clinic.

Yes I did. But for some reason I couldn't get numb, I could feel the pain when tooth was being pulled out. That is my worst nightmare. Years ago this dentist did the same thing. For some reason I didn't get numb. Maybe it's just me.

I failed to mention Dr. Mello. She's a real rockstar. And I mean that. She's so gentle, super fast and efficient. Couldn't ask for more. I was blown away at my last appointment. She made it so pleasant. It was done before I knew it.

As always Vinny thoroughly cleaned my teeth and he shared me tips on how to improve my flossing technique..staffs and Dr Thomas are all friendly so I highly recommend this place

I totally love my dentist office. EVERYONE is super cool. It's such a comfortable atmosphere and that's saying a lot because I can't stand going to the dentist! Just one of my own dislikes. HOWEVER, they make it enjoyable and fun. And I love my hygienist. Christy is the BEST ever. Never ever hurts. It's great!

Met with Dr. Mitsunaga and decided to re-schedule my appointment to May 4, 2026 at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm to drill into my cavity and decide if root canal is needed, do core buildup with pins, have crown made and at the afternoon time slot, to do the crown work. I appreciate the explanation given to help me decide on my treatment.

Went to see Jennifer Hygienist and she did a fabilous job today. She explainied the difference between the electic toothbrush vs manual, flossing with the string vs stick. She was Gentle and always telling me her next. The reception in Kaneohe was also so helpful with my billing excellent service.

I never have to wait and everyone is always very friendly and concerned about my comfort. Today, they asked if I wanted to use the restroom before we got started. And it doesn’t matter if you’ve got high-end insurance or not, you are treated well.

Great and quick service at the front desk, the staff member who did my X-rays was awesome she made me comfortable and reassured me thru the process, Kiana the hygienist is the best she did cleaning and made it as smooth as possible, different cleaning techniques that made me feel at ease. Yesterday I had a deep cleaning done by the hygienist and she was really nice! All of the people who work at Hawaii Family Dental in Hilo, Hawaii do a wonderful job with everything! I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a dental place too!

I have horrible anxiety going to the dentist related to the sound of the drill, even just for cleanings. Today, I had to have three fillings and a crown replaced which took 3 hours. However, the dentist and the assistant were completely understanding when I needed a minute to regroup and then start again. With my phone playing music and my ear plugs in, I was comfortable in my own headspace and I could still follow directions. Now, regarding the bill. I found out that the dental insurance from my job had not been activated yet. This information was the thing that finally broke me; I had a complete emotional melt down right there in the office. The 2 young ladies that assisted me, helped in figuring out a payment plan using their discount program for low income patients.Thank you Dr. Alcantra, Jahveen, and all the front office staff at Hawaii Family Dental in Ewa Beach!

Am/ESOME Dentist and amazing staff! Dr. Ricardo Fernandez’s HUMOROUS and friendly bedside manner definitely comforted my nerves and worries. I came in with the pain and discomfort of 3 cracked/chipped teeth and left with the joy and comfort of 3 repaired teeth and a “favorite” new Doctor. He definitely did “God’s Work” in rebuilding my 3 cracked teeth back to its original form. You can hardly tell it’s resin composite. He was also very informative on the causes of the damaged teeth (sleep grinding from stress) and offered solutions: Deep breathing, don’t chew rocks LOL, and a dental guard to prevent further damage. Much Mahalo Doc and staff for an excellent dental experience!

From the first dental visit of their life, as a toddler, or all the way to being being a teen getting dentist and orthodontist... my kids have always felt comfortable and respected. They frequently ask when they get to go to their next appointment. I'm sure it sounds like a commercial. I had a lot of stress about finding a good dentist, because of nightmare stories my friend's kids experienced. There was no stress or concerns of that at Hawaii Family Dental in Kona. I got to stay with my children, while a Disney movie of their choice was playing, and I got to make glove balloon animals while they were getting their teeth done.... and leave them to cheer up other kids. Can't recommend them enough. My kids will be sad when they have to switch to adult dental. They will miss all her jokes and the ways she makes them giggle and accidently splash her... good thing she wears goggles and protective apron. 🤣

Have been under Nina's care for several years. She is an excellent hygentist, is very thorough, and always does a great job cleaning my teeth.

Everyone is so friendly and takes care of all my needs. A new crown and an implant! It’s all been pretty extreme and I’m grateful for their TLC.

This place is always busy. It's hard to get an appointment unless you make one 6 months in advance.Also, they did overcharge me last year for something that resulted in a $$ credit. Were they ever going to tell me if I didn't come back for service? I find it unprofessional that they hold on to a credit for over a year like that without telling you.Always had a good experience here with the dental hygienist/check in staff.

I received excellent care from considerate, friendly staff. Albeit I was a little sore later I was glad I changed dentist and started getting care here.

I recently went to see Dr. Shin, my orthodontist. He is always very kind and helpful. My teeth look great! Also, Dr. Moon was able to do an exam while I was there. I appreciate how Hawaii Family Dental helps me every step of the way to take care of my teeth, so they can last a long time. Mahalo!

Nina is a little rough, but she clearly cares that I am take care of, is thorough and clearly knowledgeable and skilled and I am glad she is my hygienist. She is also able to keep me comfortable so that I don’t feel like I am drowning during the procedure.

My experience at Hawaii family dental Kihei was exceptional these last two visits. I always have a good experience, but I got to see hygienist Yana for the first time, and she made my visit very comfortable and calming. My appointment was for a routine teeth cleaning, but she could see that I needed a deep cleaning and as scary as I’ve heard those to be, she was very gentle, very caring and attentive. She takes a lot of pride in her work and you can tell she really enjoys what she does. I am scheduled to see her again in six months. I recommend Hawaii family dental, and especially recommend Yana.
