Dr. Azure Utley

Dr. Utley, a native of Toledo, Ohio, currently serves as a commissioned officer in the Army Dental Corps. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, a Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Dentistry in Michigan, and completed an Advanced Education of Prosthodontics Residency training program at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.

With over 22 years of clinical experience, Dr. Utley is dedicated to providing exceptional dental care to military beneficiaries in the United States and abroad. In addition to her service, she has taught as a clinical professor at multiple institutions, sharing her expertise with the next generation of dental professionals.

Guided by the “ohana spirit,” Dr. Utley offers evening and weekend hours to accommodate families with nontraditional schedules in our Kapolei dental office. As one of the few Board-Certified Prosthodontists in Hawaii, she welcomes patients of all needs, from straightforward cases to the most complex. Dr. Utley also treats patients medically diagnosed with mild-to-moderate obstructive sleep apnea using prescribed custom oral positioning devices (oral appliance therapy).

The lady that was helping my kids with their appointment, was amazing. She gave both kids praise for being still. She made them feel comfortable and happy during the entire appointment. Very nice facilities and staff. They do a nice job of getting you in and out! My only recommendation would be to have a real person check you in, not a remote individual on a screen. Beyond that, I really enjoy it here and am am happy with the service they provide. Thanks for all your hard work!

Friendly and helpful staff (I believe Dr Ching was my provider). Very transparent with pricing - my filling was going to cost more than I was initially quoted (cavity ended up being bigger). A staff member came in before they proceeded to inform me of the new cost, which I appreciated! Will continue to be a patient of HFD.

These 5 stars is for Dr. David Kirsch. I can't speak for every dentist in that office but he is the best. His procedure are gentle and nearly painless and gets done right. I've had dentists in the past that were rough on my teeth & gums and caused or gave me a filling when I actually needed a root canal. I also like that he checks in multiple time and offers to answer any questions.

For years I have avoided seeing a dentist due remarks made by people within that facility. I was very fortunate to do my homework and would not judge me. From the get go Dr. Camden Tokunaga and his hygienists have all been friendly, and professional. Put it this way, their treatment of me was like that of long lost friends so glad to see you.... I had a wonderful experience with Hawaii Family dental. I was in need of a new dentist and had some dental issues. The check in was smooth and everyone was friendly. The dentist addressed all concerns and explained what was necessary to fix my dental issues step by step. No hard selling, no brush offs, just a plan to fix the issue. I was able to get a cleaning straight away. Because of my dental issue I thought it would be painful, but she was gentle and thorough. So far I'm very please.

Kayana was super patient and positive. She was great at explaining process, procedures and potential work needed. The X-rays were so clear about how my teeth have changed since my last visit. I even got my teeth cleaned with no tears today. I chose the sticky bugglegum paint on fluoride polish ( you can eat immediately following the appointment) over the traditional minty mouthwash fluoride rinse(1/2 hour wait before eating or drinking liquids). Female dentist Dr. Chinn was knowledgeable, fast, friendly, thorough and very good. It has been a while since my last visit but the visit was pleasant and much needed! I wish I had come back sooner!

Awesome second visit. Dr. Moon prepped my teeth for a future bridge and did a painless tooth extraction today. After going home, swelling was minimal and no pain reliever was needed. Once again Dr. Moon and his assistant were very professional throughout the entire process. I look forward to the final bridge being installed next month as well as what comes next so that I can have the best dental health possible.

My dental hygienist was great. She explained everything she was doing, and she handled my teeth, clean for a professional. My only complaint was that my bill for my fluoride treatment was not accurately priced. Upon receiving the fluoride treatment at the end of my cleaning session, I found that I had to pay an additional cost that I was not told about.

The dentist and dental hygienist were amazing! Both listened to my concerns and made sure I felt comfortable from beginning to end. Originally I was only scheduled for XRAY’s and then a separate appointment for my cleaning because of their busy schedule. When I checked in I asked if they had time to do the cleaning as well so I wouldn’t have to take an additional day off work. They squeezed me in! Didn’t even have to wait too long to get the cleaning done. Amazing staff. Very accommodating and friendly. Mahalo for the great service!

Returning patient from the late 80's. Found all the staff from reception, imaging, cleaning and the dentist to be very friendly and professional. Dental office is very nice and clean. Entire visit took just slightly over one hour, but it was a very comfortable and pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist in the Ewa Beach and Kapolei area.

I have been experiencing a bad tooth ache call several dental offices some indicated they handle dental emergencies to my dismay none had any openings.
