On the weekends, Dr. Tokunaga enjoys paddling, watching movies, and bringing his therapy dog to Queen’s Medical Center to brighten up patients’ days.
My wife & I both had our wisdom teeth pulled recently by Dr. Lum. The whole experience from consult to surgery was extremely comfortable and informed. His bedside manner was wonderful. His assistant Hunter was also very kind and personable. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone on the island! Our two daughters (2 & 4) also just saw Dr. Keeton. He made the visit so fun by singing songs, cracking jokes, letting them help count each other’s teeth, etc. It was a wonderful experience and we left the office with two confident and giggly little girls. He was great!
I think Iʻve finally found a great group of dental technicians w Hi Fāmily Dental. I need a lot of work done. I was surprised at the amt of prep work done by possible future junior dentists there before the dentist shows up. My 1st appt was w Dr. Hoisington. I appreciate how she explains every step. She does this new 1 to 4 point step on each tooth where 1 is good n 4 needs work. Further analyzed up to a 6 or reclassified up to a 12 for more specific work. Haha! I think Iʻve got it.My 1st cleaning w Ms. Yates was amazing. She was also very helpful in explaining. My last cleaning was 2 1/2 yr ago. I usually endure a lot of pain from cleaning, even worst than pulling teeth, but w Ms. Yates, hardly any. She did say I did pretty good in flossing tho. Iʻm looking foreward to more visits.L. Hussey
Dr. Oakley and Sabrina make an incredible team. Excellent care and explanations about the treatment that can be understood! Mahalo!Had the third of three surgies and a wisdom tooth removed. Dr. Oakley and Hunter as assistant, were amazing in their skill and patient care. Sabrina assisted as always - what a great team! Thank you.
I can't say enough great things about this dentist!I went in for an exam and x-ray the first day, and a general cleaning the next day.I've been to several different dentists throughout the USA. This dentist is so far my favorite! The exam was very thorough, more thorough than any previous exam at other dentistries. The x-rays were also far more thorough and precise than previous offices. The dental hygienist, Kasey, was very knowledgeable along a long line of topics. I enjoyed having my questions answered with depth and insight, as well as true scientific explanations.Everyone here was very kind and there are many private rooms!I would highly recommend this dental office. I will be going in for a wisdom tooth consult and will update my review with the upcoming experience!
Dr. Oakley and Sabrina and Jeff are absolutely amazing!! They are truly fantastic with my son who has Down syndrome. I couldn't ask for better care for him. They are compassionate, caring, professional, gentle and kind. Hawaii Family Dental is an excellent office for the entire family. I highly recommend them!!
Dr. Barry Sullivan is an outstanding, down to earth Dentist. Patients are moved through the clinic quickly in assembly line style. However, getting a teeth cleaning appointment is extremely difficult and the billing/bookkeeping system leaves a lot to be desired. It would also be great if Family Dental had their on lab on the premises.
I'm not a person who loves doctor's/dentist's office visit. But, visiting Hawaii FAMILY Dental is like visiting my extended family members. Most of the time, I end up in the hands of Dr. Coleen Sullivan and Mr. Jeffrey Thomas. It is always a pleasant time spending and catching up with them. Very highly professional and courteous service.
