Born and raised in Hawaii, Dr. Peter Lee spent over a decade living in different locations around the world including Boston, Omaha, South Korea and Japan. In 2016, he returned to Hawaii to enter his pediatric dentistry specialty residency. During that time, he volunteered extensively throughout the community for organizations including Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center, West Hawaii Community Health Center (Kona), Lanai Community Health Center, Kaiser Hospitals and Shriners Hospital.

Dentistry has always appealed to Dr. Lee, as he realized he could change people’s lives for the better by improving their oral health through education and necessary treatments. He gains tremendous satisfaction when he knows he made a difference in a child’s life.

Joining the Hawaii Family Dental Centers team was an easy choice for Dr. Lee, as one of his goals was to provide consistent and outstanding care for families across the state. He acknowledges that educating parents and caregivers to help children improve their diet, hygiene, and oral health carries over to better performance in school and extracurricular activities.

Dr. Lee believes in providing patients with the very best dental care possible, and this fact is reflected by the 17 professional awards he has received. These commendations range from Outstanding Achievement and Excellence in Patient and Practice Management Award in 2012 to the 374th Dental Squadron Dentist (Company Grade Officer) of the Year 2015, which was awarded during his active duty time in the U.S. Air Force.

When he is not in the office, Dr. Lee enjoys spending time with his wife and baby daughter and staying physically active by playing basketball and exercising. He loves eating great food and traveling. New Zealand has been one of his favorite travel destinations so far.
