Dr gene did a great job,he was very careful while replacing an old filing in my mouth,it wasn’t painful at all and it was very quick,I liked the way he worked,very efficient and clean.Very good results.my next treatment for tooth cleaning was set with yana,hopefully for the same results.

The dentist, nurse’s and staff have been outstanding these past three phase visits. They were very professional in every aspect of dentistry with the unique hospitality and cordial nature providing a welcoming experience. Mahalo Dr. Eugene, Jane and Anna and the team that repaired my partial and denture.

Had to do a 3 teeth extraction. Dr Gene was very gentle and spoke / explained through out the whole process making sure I was ok. He made sure I didn’t feel a thing.He made me feel comfortable knowing I hated going to the dentist. mahalo Dr. Gene.

Although going to the dentist is something I strongly dislike—especially procedures involving needles—my visit with Family Dentistry was a positive experience. Dr. Gene was excellent, as was his assistant. The front desk personnel were professional and courteous. They all made me feel welcome.

Dr Wiz and Dr Gene did a great job on my root canal and crown. The staff were also amazing! Thank you!

Everyone from the receptionist (Bobbie) to the exray person (Jaden) to the financial/insurance person (Annabelle) to the hygienist (Yana) was friendly, knowledgeable and gave me great service. (I hope I got the names right! ) The dentist who helped me, Dr. Mello, was pleasant and professional, and I will certainly be one of her patients for a long time to come. I was extremely happy with everyone, and I look forward to a good future with them all. ********** Comment #2 ********** I have something not good to add: I went back today to have a procedure done, and IT WAS SO NOISY I COULD BARELY STAND IT. Just cublicles, no doors. Lots of dentists, patients, people talking, general noise. I found it very unpleasant. Based on the atmosphere alone, I cannot recommend, and take back my 5 stars.

During the previous 2 years I have been fortunate to have Dr Moon and the support team give great care and attention to make sure that my dental were met. Dr Moon is not only good at his profession but also kind and generous with his time as well as he has good hands and touch which makes a difference for those of you whom may understand. I had a general cleaning done yesterday. I was in and out in just 30 minutes. Shelby was excellent, no pain, and encouraging on my dental health.

Keith is a terrific hygienist. He has a friendly manner that helps me not to be so stressed about being in the dental chair. He is skilled at cleaning and makes the experience better than I generally fear it will be.

I have a long history of fear and anxiety related to the dentist, so this was the last place I wanted to go ! I'm not talking about a little fear...I'm talking about the...I've seen a therapist and have taken anti-anxiety meds and still didn't make it to past appointments and haven't been to the dentist in over 10 years...kind of scared !! After dealing with a toothache for over a month, I decided it was time to take the plunge. After finding out which dentists took my insurance and reading dozens of reviews, I decided to go with Hawaii Family Dental. I can now say I definitely made the right decision ! I was honest with them from the start about my experiences and my fears, and not once did I feel belittled or looked down on for my fears..it was the opposite. I was handled with care and gently. As a grown man I should be embarrassed by this irrational fear, but I am not, I fully embrace the problem I have with the dentist! They took their time, explained everything in detail and made sure I knew what to expect every step of the way. I work in the healthcare field, so I have a preconceived notion of what a positive patient experience should entail, I can say this clinic exceeded my expectations. Rusty, Rowena and Chastity in the front are professional, always smiling, and make sure I know exactly what is happening with my appointments, my insurance coverage and co-pays; their smiles and greeting set the tone for the entire office. Dr Thomas is great, during the exam and with the work I've had so far, he has been professional and patient, he checks in with me often and makes me feel like he actually cares about me while in his chair. His assistant, Emily, is just as great. She checked in just as often and got me talking about life in general, great at distracting me while she was doing what she had to do. I had to have a deep cleaning ( of course I did, ugh ), and my hygienist, Christy, was great from the moment I sat in her chair, nervous as hell !! She could tell and made me forget about what was happening in no time! Can't say Thank You enough to the crew at Hawaii Family Dental - Kihei for making it such a positive experience ! You've got a new regular patient here !

Haven't came to the dentist in years because I generally don't like to go to the dentist, but my experience today was great. Ana was my hygienist and she made the visit as comfortable as it could possibly be. Receptionist was also very friendly. The Dr was professional and proficient, telling me what work I need to get done and why. I will defiantly be coming back to complete all work I need done and possibly an invisalign consultation. Highly recommended.

Today was my first visit at Kihei Family dental office, with Dr. Thomas. I needed sudden attention to a cavity gone bad on the lower right wisdom tooth. Dr. Thomas took care of it and was so kind, generous, gentle, and gracious with my situation. What a wonderful doctor and great visit! I would definitely recommend him!! 🙂 -Amy M.

In general this Dental office and the staff are great. However yesterday my daughter didn't get to see the dentist. After her cleaning we waited and and waited. after 45minutes I asked how much longer, we had other places to be. Another 10 minutes pass and I ask again. I am told the dentist has a person in the chair and one more person in front of us. Ok I get things happen but we were the only other people there in the waiting room. Were we going to sit there for another hour and not be told. Perhaps the staff could have said after the cleaning , the dentist is running and hour or more behind would you like to go some where and come back. As it was I was just plain annoyed and had to reschedule. Believe it or not you are in the costumer service as well as health care industry. I have been a patient for 20 plus years and expect better.
