I have had about 3 visits to this dental office, and I have been impressed every time with the efficiency, warmth, and thorough education offered by each of my providers. I am amazed at how the staff and physicians stay on time and make sure we have everything we need. I wish we had more offices/dentists, as I can only get appointments booked 6 months in advance. But Iʻm super happy to be a part of this office. Dr. Tupua, Micah, and Nina, plus all the front desk staff have been super helpful and kind. Iʻm always excited to go to the dentist!

I went for my first appointment with Hawaii Family Dental in the Prince Kuhio Plaza last week. I feel "dentist anxiety" but my nervousness and fear decreased as soon as I stepped into their office. The front counter staff greeted me and asked how they could help. Next, the dental assistant helped me with X-rays, teeth photos, and general information. She was warm and gentle, again, putting me more at ease. The dentist that examined me was Dr. Tupua who greeted me in a friendly manner. She and her assistant worked well in unison during the very thorough examination. Dr. Tupua explained the condition of my teeth and gums clearly and also went over procedures that would help. After the examination, I was back at the front counter and was given a copy of the dental procedures needed along with the cost. The dental clerk was very helpful going pretty much step by step what would be involved. Overall, a very good experience. I am thankful for Hawaii Family Dental at the PKP in Hilo.

My visit with Dr Kristiana Tupua today was professional and great. She put me at ease let me know what she was doing and game changing they used a bite guard (not sure right word) which took pressure off my jaw while she filled the cavity. Wonderful to not have my jaw hurt when done with dental work.. Great visit and office staff super helpful.

Nina is a great hygienist and very kind. The new dentist, Dr. Tupua is excellent and very thorough. The office is always clean and staff is usually very friendly.
