10/2026 Update a few years later: I've seen many hygienists, now Yana consistently and she's been great. Dr. Thomas still remains the main reason I stay, but I will say that the office staff has GREATLY improved. Consultation with orthodontist was top notch.I've seen two hygienists now (Heather and Heaven) and Dr. Thomas. These three have been great. My experience with the administrative staff has been less than stellar. Confusion on billing, not super friendly, prompt or professional. But overall it's an ok Clinic. My insurance takes it and it's close to home so that's what's keeping me there.

From one who normally dreads having my dental work done I continue to be greatful for the attentiveness of my hygienist who has given me great medical care. Verily, I did enjoy a most wondrous experience at Hawaii Family Dental. From the very moment I crossed the threshold, the attendants at the fore did greet me with great warmth and courtesy. The physician of teeth and the gentle helper were tender in their craft, diligent in their labors, and did patiently expound all matters unto me. At no time was I beset by haste, and the chamber was exceeding clean and restful. By my troth, 'twas the finest visit to a healer of teeth that I have known in an age! Much gratitude unto the household.

Kellie was very friendly & thorough taking great care deep cleaning my tooth. I requested an alternative numbing agent and she did it with the knowledge that a little would be sufficient. I’m looking forward to my next visit again with her to manage other teeth. Thank you so much Kellie for great efficient sincere care🤙🏼🙏

Quick and efficient. Happy with the new (to me) hygenist. Very thorough. Front office listened to some of my concerns about a new billing and payment procedure with Metlife. I can't see how up-front full payment and reimbursement from ins. would be sustainable for the average insured patient. As always, a pleasant visit, even if it is a DDS office.

New patient coming from California. My last dental team was great but HFD in Honolulu is as good if not better. Check in was seamless through the virtual assistant and was seen right away not having to wait. Dr. Taira and my hygienist (I can't remember at the moment) were awesome! I highly recommend this practice to anyone!

I had a tooth extraction that went well. Was disappointed that the doctor wouldn't prescribe pain killers. Hopefully Tylenol will do the job. I'm not optimistic.

Great as always, place runs like a well oiled machine, you easily check in on the tablet. Have a seat and right on time or early they call you back, they have all the stuff ready to go. If I have an appt at 10 for a cleaning im usually done and out by 1045

I enjoyed my visit with Dr. Chong and her staff. Everyone was kind and helpful. Dr. Chong explained my progress in detail, helping me to improve on my care and implementation of my Invisalign.

I had an appointment for a filling with DR Eugene,it went well,started on time,the shots were almost like I didn’t feel it which is great then the whole procedure continued fine,not too much of pain and in the end it even looked great,good service from the staff and overall it was OK.They recommended to do another treatment so we scheduled,I guess I’ll see them again,soon.

Staff very pleasant and knowledgeable in their positions. Dentist explained all treatment options, and steps, and pros and cons of all treatment plans. Also was quoted costs for next visit. Very pleased with Hawaii Family Dental and especially with Dr. Bono.

Dr. SIDDIQUI WAS GREAT!!! Im glad I switched dentist the original dentist was so rough even after I told him. That I had bad experiences with another dentist.

The young lady to clean my teeth was great. Was disappointed, though when I got there, I was told the dentist is not in. If I would've known that I would've rescheduled. I pay for my Medicare and I really wanted an exam. So the next time I get my teeth exam will be in six months forward which will be a year and a half from the last time. But again the girl who cleaned my teeth did an excellent job. Thank you very much. I'll see you in six months. I will call ahead to make sure that the dentist is there for an exam. Take care aloha

My hygienist Jeffrey was excellent. The 20 minute wait while the checkin assistant was a definite drag and I would give that zero stars. It was like this last time I was there too, and it has only gotten worse. Live staff at the desk please. Mahalo.

Vinnie was amazing as my hygienist. Answered all my questions and was very gentle. Glad he on board with your office.I would like to share that both my daughter and I (on separate occasions) had our six month scheduled cleanings cancel. And, in both cases, they couldn't reschedule for almost six months. That meant we both waited a year for our cleaning.

Employees all nice and helpful. Efficient check in. Clean office. Dr Young was very knowledgeable and explained the treatment options in an easy way to understand. Thank you. 🙏

Dr. Scott extracted a molar in one visit and in another performed deep root cleaning plus a graft. In the preparatory descriptions he was the essence of courtesy and polite explanation. In the procedures he showed great concern for the patient (me) to have minimal pain and discomfort. A superb professional!During the procedures, his nurse matched his professionalism and concern for the patient's (still me) well-being.A terrific team! Staff and Dr Chang explained what was going on and what needed to be done. It took only an hour for 3 teeth to get new fillings.

Today, was as usual teeth cleaning. I experienced the new check in portal. It was okay, prefer human face to face. The office staff was excellent. My hygienist was awesome (Vinny) I love the professional atmosphere and respect given to all patients.

Dr. Sieka is amazing! Very thoughtful and kind, always talks to the kids like they're important, and explains everything she's doing with their teeth so they know what's going on. I am always impressed with her! Her staff is great as well!

on my first visit, I was very surprised to see So many cubicles and people working there; and my 2nd visit today I again felt very efficiently taken care of. It is a Great place with wonderful folks!
