Since 2009, Dr. Howard Kang has helped patients across O‘ahu hold on to their natural teeth. Dr. Kang began his dental training in a highly selective seven-year combined BS/DDS program at St. John’s University and Columbia University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He went on to earn his doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, finishing at the top of his class. After Penn, Dr. Kang completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency through Lutheran Medical Center at Kokua Kalihi Valley Community Health Center on O‘ahu, then returned to Brooklyn for his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Endodontics — earning the program’s highest honor as Chief Resident.

Dr. Kang performed my root canal today. Since I'm currently pregnant I could not get the usual anesthesia but Dr.Kang still made every effort to ensure that I was as comfortable as possible during the procedure and I barely felt a thing. The staff at this facility in general are phenomenal 👏 everyone is so nice and polite. 10/10 recommend for all your dental needs

Dr. Kang and team are very kind. They made my first root canal comfortable, quick and pain free. Dr. Kang is so gentle through the entire procedure, I highly recommend seeing him and his team they are detailed and very caring. I’m incredibly thankful for the experience that they provided.

You guys are the best Was afraid to go to the dentist prior to this necessary emergency Have now been there 3 times and look forward to future visits Dr Kang and staff always greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome. Was a little shaky on my first visit with a bad toothache and little sleep The staff had no problem helping me fill out the initial paperwork Mahalo to all of you!

Dr. Kang and staff were super friendly, and professional. The office is conveniently located near where we live, the waiting room is nice and clean as well as the dental rooms. I have no complaints and I generally do NOT like going to the dentist! Would absolutely recommend Hawaii Family Dental - Kapolei!

I would like to compliment the Kapolei office of Hawaii Family Dental on my most recent visit. The staff is professional and polite - even called me to come in early, if it fit my schedule. Dr Kang was not only fully competent in my procedure; he went out of his way to call me the next morning to check on my status. I would gladly provide them an EXCELLENT review.

Dr. Kang is the best dentist I've ever been to. I needed multiple procedures, root canal/crown/fillings, and he made the process quick and as painless as hours in a dentist's chair can be. The entire staff is amazing, and seem to all have a great work environment which makes me feel comfortable.

Hawaii Family Dental, Kapolei ,Dentist, Hygienist and Office Worker are very professional to handle there own task. I would like to thanks Dr. George Kang ,and all his hygienist for there professional and well mannered dealing with patients. There office is well equipped with high tech machines, but cleanliness, good hygiene and handling of equipment impress me most. In my own assessments, HFD-Kapolei rated 5 star and I highly recommend to everybody. Again, thank you DR.GEORGE KANG and HYGIENIST for your professional services.

My experience with my father was positive. The service was great from start to finish. My father couldnt stop raving about Stanley (dental assistant) and Dr. Kang's service. Also known for the best dentists in Hawaii, this place is deserving of this accolade.
