LONG OVERDUE! FIRST EVER VISIT IN 2023: I’ve been meaning to leave a review and as a single working mom of 6, I just forget things unless it’s in front of my face, to do with my babies or work! My very first day was such a pleasantly surprising one. Such awesome staff that welcomes you. Dr. Melo was so gentle and amazing and her assistant Hailey was very kind and sweet. I’ve never had a dentist in years that didn’t laugh after my X-rays after an examination or made a joke. She was just amazing. On my way out, Bobbi took care of my discharge. Again, such amazing staff…. PEOPLE. She actually confirmed some things with Dr. And my actual costs came down. Most people are “burn and turn”, but she actually took her time to look into things that worked out in my favor. I’m here at my 3rd appointment and I am so happy I found a judgment free place and such caring staff! LATEST VISIT 12/23/24: The best customer service and care you will ever find on this island! I was being set up for 2 crowns, and this was the prep for the temps. I was made to feel comfortable right off the bat, and great care was taken to ensure the shot didn't hurt. Success! The work took a couple hours start to finish, and the care and attention left no room for complaints. Lots of minor adjustments with explanations of what was going on. They weren't satisfied until my"bite" lined up perfectly. Lots of detail work, and I am very happy with everything I experienced. I will come back in a month for the actual crowns. I have no doubt it will go flawlessly. I was very impressed with the professionalism I was treated to. Recommendation? Absolutely!! If you're looking for a great dental team, Hawaii Family Dental is a GREAT choice.

The dentist was great, no discomfort at all. The dental assistant was awesome, she was professional and made me feel relaxed during the procedure. She was great!!!

Best experience I’ve ever had at a dentist’s office. Everyone was so nice and welcoming from the front desk to the billing and the hygienist to the dentist. Dr. Thomas and the hygienist (I didn’t catch her name) were both super gentle and very thorough when explaining the procedures and the reasoning behind their work. I’m very impressed and have never felt this good coming out of a dental appointment. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I can’t wait to go back!

I’ve had horrible dentist experiences in the past, especially with doctors and hygienists not being professional and treating people with respect. I’m happy to say that Dr. Mello, the Hygienists and all of the staff at Hawaii Family Dental have been amazing. Professionalism at its finest.

Hawaii Family Dental is a wonderful practice. Dr. Thomas and Kailey, the hygienist who takes care of me, are both highly professional and warm and friendly people. The reception staff is welcoming and helpful. It’s an outstanding dental practice.

Dr Jeffrey Thomas is the very BEST Dentist in Hawaii. Experienced very many unethical, dishonest Dentists before finding him. Dr Thomas is highly skilled, honest, ethical, professional & the most patient care oriented Dentist I've experienced. Very highly recommended, I am very glad to have found the best. My words would be less to thank Dr Mello she has been a angel for me to help me in my severe tooth pain extraction. She was so kind to call me and guide me with pain and next day morning 7.30 am did my extraction. Absolute smooth hands and did not even know when it was out. I gave a big hug in tears. Thank you so much Dr Mello not enough words of mahalo ❤️❤️🌺💐🌈Same situation was 4 months back in california did my wisdom tooth extraction paid $2000 and so much of pain and no aloha at all. 🥲. I had an exceptional experience at my dental visit! Kaylee, my hygienist, was absolutely amazing. She cleaned my teeth so gently that I could have easily fallen asleep in the chair—I was that relaxed. Dr. Thompson was very thorough during the exam, and I'm thrilled to report no cavities! Overall, it was a great visit, and I’m actually looking forward to my next appointment. Highly recommend!

Dr. Stone ROCKS! He is only there occasionally for periodontal cases but what a great guy. He worked hard on extracting my cracked tooth. Next day virtually no pain or swelling. Amazing. And the front desk staff could not have been any nicer Last time I wasn’t impressed. This time, five stars beginning to end. Mahalo guys. Keep it up.

Only 5 minute wait and appointment time. Waiting room was comfortable with music playing. All fees and services were explained before dental work including insurance coverage. Kailey is the thorough, professional, and likable hygienist. Dr. Thomas spent a few minutes discussing the exam results and whether follow up was needed.

Dr Thomas is fantastic. I have had problems my last two visits at front desk concerning my bill. Each time my payment rose over 500 from my balance due. This time Bobbi adjusted my payment due down to what I was expecting

Yana is my favorite hygenist I’ve ever had. She knows going to the dentist is scary for me. She is quick, thorough, gentle, and so kind the whole time. Can’t recommend her and Hawaii Family Dental Kihei enough!

Kihei office ~The friendliness, patience, listening skills, and overall care are consistently excellent ~ from the receptionists to hygienists, and the two doctors I’ve interacted with - Dr. Thomas and Dr. Stone. I appreciate them all, and feel reassured as I gradually resolve a variety dental needs.
